Years ago, I used to be an Avon rep — and I loved it.
Apparently this is the only photographic evidence I have left of my Avon days. 🤦♀️😂
Not really because of the selling. It was the people.
I loved seeing someone's reaction when they found something they adored, and getting those little messages saying “Any chance you've got this coming back?”
I got to know my customers. Some of them even became friends.
I hadn't realised how much I missed that until this week.
I've been looking at ways to get Scented Sanctuary out into the local community a little more — including the spectacularly high-tech idea of putting leaflets through people's doors. 😂
And I've been ridiculously excited about it.
I think it's because running an online business can sometimes feel like there's a screen between me and the people I'm actually making things for.
I don't just want orders. I want to know you.
What you love. What you don't. What you'd like to see next. And that's exactly what I want Sunday Sanctuary to become too — somewhere you're part of what's happening, rather than just reading about it afterwards.
